Just a quick update about a new feature that is available in CSVPiG our Worpress CSV Import Plugin.
You can now enter multiple categories into the ‘category’ field of your import CSV file e.g.:
- Entering ‘products, wordpress plugins, csvpig’ into the category field would result in the post appearing in 3 categories
- Entering just ‘csvpig’ into the category field would result in the post appearing in just the child category
You don’t need to update your CSVPiG if you’ve already done it recently as this feature is already built in, we just forgot to document it! I’ll be adding it to user guide shortly.
If you don’t already have CSVPiG you can download it here:

Joomla doesn't seem to have any plugins for bulk importing Word or RTF docs; wondering if I should just build a CSV for export in Excel…

We could look at migrating our plugins to Joomla if there was sufficient demand, it does seem to be the 2nd most popular CMS and can be very useful for autoblogging, I've certainly had some Joomla sites in my portfolio in the past.

I think that wordpress is great if you are running a small blog or website, but anything more Drupal is the way to go.

Well Drupal is definitely an alternative to WP but I’m not sure the scale issue stacks-up as some very highly trafficked websites use WP, Drupal is another great AutoBlogging platform though, as is Joomla.

Csv Import: I have a large excel database that needs to be imported into Joomla and Drupal. Will this help?

This is so confusing. What is the difference between this free one and an expensive one for £99.99 (CSV2POST)
???
I have looked at their online demo and it does look good. A lot more functions and they seem to update it constantly. Plus I emailed them and they said buyers get access to lots of other premium plugin.
But my point is the price. Is there £99.99 worth of extra in that over this? Won't this just do the same.
Aw I need a break lol

Hi Zara, yes the marketplace can be a little confusing at times.
The product you mention certainly appears to have more features than our free version of CSVPiG but one would expect that for the price.
I'm actually launching a new version of our product called CSVPiG Pro today, it'll be priced at $97, so around half of the one you mention and I think it stacks up very well in terms of features too. In addition it is just as easy to use as our free version.
Stay tuned and take look at CSVPiG Pro later today, I'll be happy to answer any questions you have about it.
All the best
Gary
