Dream to Win Pro Plugins (Update)

Wow! Thank you.

The response has been absolutely awesome to our dream plugins competition.

Over 80 comments so far all packed with great ideas about plugins you’d love to see developed. Not all of them serious of course. I particularly liked DatePiG and several people agreed with my CoffeePiG thoughts.

One of the nicest things I discovered was that we are definitely heading in the right direction as some of upcoming products include many of the suggestions made. The need for automatic social bookmarking of posts was mentioned several times so the launch of SocialPiG this month could not be more timely.

We’ve also decided to bring forward the launch of BlogPiG Labs a place where you can see exactly what we’re working on and even vote for what we should release next. It’ll be a hub for product suggestions and beta testers etc. Should be pretty cool.

An existing member who’s already bought the whole suite of products emailed me of the weekend. They where understandably a little miffed at the thought of missing out on free Pro upgrade. I should have been clearer in the original note and said that the complimentary Pro License is good for any existing OR FUTURE BlogPiG product. So you can claim a plugin tomorrow or hold on to it and wait for SocialPiG or whatever comes next.

By way of thanks for all the great comments I’ve upped the number of Pro Licenses we’re giving away to 3 so you’ve much better odds at winning now.

Each comment you leave equals a new entry and you leave multiple comments. (only 1 license per person though)

What would be your dream WordPress plugin?

So go on leave a comment on this post or the previous post (I’ll combine both posts comments for the draw tomorrow).

Less than 24hrs left.

UPDATE: This competition is now closed and the winners announced fell free to make more suggestions though as they could always end up being built and you’ll get a free copy if it is.

I would love to have a membership plugin that just works, no copy and paste, no opening up multiple webpages, in order to configure the plugin, no going to paypal to get copy paste button codes, no short codes, just name your membership and a template is copied into the specified directory.

    Slam Bam thank you ma'am.

Then, if you want to customize it your free to do so, but I truly hate all these membership plugins that claim they are the best and you have to copy paste ecommerce, then you have to setup, membership protection, (short codes)

Then you have to setup membership levels.
protection levels, it just seems sort of frail, all in all,

I would much prefer a fill in the blank, scenario, where, I just enter my paypal email and or what ever processor I am using, and then name the membership and the levels, ect, and the plugin just goes to town.

No Bull Pucky just good old fashioned, form submit to database and setup, simple, right, but you know what it does not yet exist, even though there are about 5 wordpress memberships that all claim to be the best, the trouble is none of them perform, no not one.

Tim, I had thought there where so many membership plugins out there that MemberPiG would be an uphill struggle, but perhaps not? I use Amember which is not particulalrly tightly integrated with WP at all, but I've not really needed it to be, that said, it's never done what we need out of the box. Fortunately having in-house developer has some big advantages….

Personally , i think we all need a professional plugin to FILTER posts using categories/tags/custom fields.

    Hello
My dream plugin would be an all in one seo that would search and populate and write the post with relevant keywords that it found

    Hello Everyone…

It's time for 'this little piggy' to go to market.!
To go to the market and write reviews that is.

    Presenting…ReviewPiG!
Able to pull product reviews from other sites!
Able to spin those reviews into unique text!
All this for a small annual fee!
(Jon Leger would be a good one to partner with on this project)

    I'm enjoying 'the game'…
    Thank You!

    Steven Van Schooten

Plugin that will take your post and search the net for top 5-10 highest page rank, ranking relevant matching web content with a recommended spin or mash up of your own article with that relevant one. Use that spin/mashed article to post a link through whatever linking service you choose.

Another idea for a great plugin (if this is possible) would be to have a popup / slide in banner that we can place anywhere on the screen, not just centrally or at the top or the bottom and for you to be able to choose shapes of it. For example, a speech bubble or a thought bubble. Something like that. It'd be great and would add a lot of 'color' to a lot of sites.

Sorry, too late for the competition but I like the popup plugin suggestion, there are a few out there already but I've not seen one that would behave in the way you describe which would be good.

Perhaps a 'post of the day' plugin? One that'll bring it to the top of all the others, maybe ad some kind of box around it so it's obviously highlighted for a reason.

    I call it…PodPig (Post Of ((the)) Day)…

    • BlogPiG

Surely this already exits, have you done a search on the WP plugins dir? It's a good idea if it doesn't.

Oh and one more (if I'm not too late incidentally), again if this possible, have some sort of way to make it so that posts can be extended across a couple of pages and to have an effect on that post that when the user clicks Page 2 then it flips over like a book page or other transitions for example.

    FlipPig!

Wow, you're full of ideas Steve, I'm sorry they were not in time for the draw.

Steve Jobs would be proud of this one

Improve comment pig plugin to comment (spinned) on other similar blogs something like:

"{I|We|Our team} share the same view as your post. {I|We|Our team} personal opinion is (url of blog post)."

    Great for back linking :)
