CloakPiG 2.2 has been updated – based on YOUR feedback

You might remember we changed our customer support system recently.  We moved to UserVoice as we felt it provided a more immediate way for our customers to provide feedback and feature requests.  Well, sure enough, you guys have given us some great input!

CloakPiG, our auto link cloaker, has been the first PiG to benefit so far and among a couple of bug fixes, based on your feedback we have added the following options and features to the product:

New Features Which Give You More Control

  • Preloading of cookie only for the affiliate networks you specify, allowing you to be selective about which networks you do or don’t pre-load cookies for
    • If this option is selected, CoakPiG will only preload cookies from the domains which are listed in the “Manage Network List”. Click the affiliate network list link to add domains on the list
  • Pre-loading of cookie if mouse-over event occurs, allowing you to be even more targetted with your cookie pre-loading
    • If selected, this feature will preload the cookies of every affiliate link over which the visitor’s mouse hovered, because it’s likely they were either thinking about clicking the link, or viewing the URL to see if they could change the affiliate ID
  • Fully functional wildcard feature for all domain list, so you can target the domains you want, where you want
    • You can now use * as a wildcard character for the domain that you want to specify in “Domain Exemption List”, “Domain Cloaking List”, “Manage Network List”, “Edit Safe List” in CloakPiG
    • Example: *.clickbank.* – this will match http://anything.clickbank.anything
  • Link a keyword up to n time(s) per URL
    • Using this option, you can specify the number of times you want a keyword be linked to the same URL, per page
  • Labelling of manual links, enabling you to manage them more easily
    • You can now label each link using a description field.  As the label is included in the search functionality, retrieval of manual links from the system is easier
    • You can now also filter the results to show only manual links
  • Include or exclude keywords within header tags “<h1>, <h2>…” from autolinking
    • This option allows you to specify if you want the keywords inside the header tags to be autolinked or not

On top of these new features, our guys took care of a few bug fixes too. Among other things, keywords which are auto linked now retain the case of the anchor text i.e. they’ll match the use of upper or lower case letters.  More importantly, links generated by the ‘Auto Keyword Link’ feature are automatically cloaked now.

If you are a current user of CloakPiG then you can get the benefit of version 2.2 immediately using our new ‘automatic update’ feature.  See this post on how to upgrade within a couple of clicks (for free, of course!).

If you’re not using CloakPiG already, you can find out more here.

So, thank you for your feedback, people and we hope that CloakPiG now provides even more benefits to you and your WordPress websites.

All the best!

Fiona

Know the current methods to earn another $300 to $3,000 a month?

Do you think you have affiliate marketing all worked out?

I’ll admit, I honestly thought I was pretty clued up on how to squeeze the most income out of being an affiliate.  But I haven’t revisited my thinking on it for a while now, haven’t tried anything much new.

But it turns out I know someone who is totally clued up and is using the most up-to-date methods.  That person is Andrew Hansen and he and his partner Josh Stanton have put all of their knowledge and latest techniques into a series of over 50 training videos in a product called ‘Unstoppable Affiliate.’

Even people on Warrior Forum (in the product reviews section) are saying how up to date the techniques and tools are in the videos. It really is a current product.

The aim of Unstoppable Affiliate is to enable you to set up websites which genuinely have a chance of earning you $300 to $3,000 a month.  No, I didn’t miss off any zeros there or any ‘random’ numbers. Those are the realistic amounts Andrew and his partner Josh say websites built with their formula can earn you.  I trust Andrew, I believe those numbers.

The Unstoppable Affiliate video tutorial course costs $67 and here’s what that gets you:

Over 50 videos and their transcripts, covering:

  • Research
  • Site Strategies
  • Conversion Strategies
  • Traffic Mastery
  • Outsourcing & Scaling up
  • Resource List

The videos average 10 minutes a piece, so that is a lot of content and, as I said, there are PDFs of the transcripts available too.

I know Andrew, and I know his work, but over the last couple of days I have seen even more evidence of what a genuine person he is and I have read testimonials about his products and how he deals with customers. I feel even more confident recommending this course.

Now, if you leap on the video course, there is an up-sell in the purchase process – in fact, there are two . So you’re aware, here are what they are:

An 8 Week Unstoppable Affiliate Coaching Mastermind

Have you ever considered the value of a mentor?  I have to say, Andrew has a point here – the majority of the successful online marketers have had, or still have, mentors. Even when I worked corporate side, the company had an internal mentor scheme – it was a key way to learn and to boost your career – just by signing up for a mentor you were marked as someone who was going to get ahead.

So, the coaching mastermind is a mentoring scheme for those who want more intense guidance with getting ahead with affiliate marketing.  The program offers:

  • Weekly live webinar masterminds – live Q&As, reviews of websites etc.
  • Personal email access to Andrew, Josh and other experts
  • Advanced training videos
  • PDF ction checklists
  • Expert interviews
  • Special “fast income generator” modules
  • Private member forum and more

The mentoring scheme runs from 3rd August to 29th September, roughly.

Coaching Mastermind – Materials only

On holiday during this time?  Well, then you can buy the mastermind materials instead for $197.  But, I would not underestimate the value of that 1-2-1, live interaction on the webinars and over email.

I’m telling you about the up-sells, firstly, because I like transparency.  Secondly, I think these are good options in themselves. $62 a week for direct access to Andrew and Josh?  And the other people they’re plugged into?  Seems like exceptional value to me.

So, if you are looking to leverage affiliate marketing to make more money from your websites then jump at these videos and if you know you will make use of it, grab the coaching too.

You can find out more about the course and sign up here: Unstoppable Affiliate

As always, I am interested to hear your thoughts, especially if you sign up and watch the videos.

All the best,

Fiona

P.S. In my last email I said I would get this course and the coaching for my little brother if he wanted to get going with affiliate marketing. I stand by that statement with even more conviction today.

Are you an Unstoppable Affiliate?

A while back in one of my rants, I declared that people in the IM industry who want things to change for the better should act in two ways:

  • Produce quality products and promote them truthfully and honestly
  • Shine their torch on other people in the industry who are doing good things

Today I am going to shine my torch on Andrew Hansen. His name ring any bells? The last time I mentioned Andrew was back in November 2010. Gary and I met him at an event and found that we were very much kindred spirits – upset by where the industry was heading; wanting to produce genuine products.

We met up with Andrew again a couple of weeks ago and he mentioned he was producing a new course to launch in the middle of July. He didn’t say much more than that (he’s actually quite a quiet chap), except that the course’s aim was to help people actually, truly make a realistic amount of money online – no BS figures, just a way to make income as an affiliate.

From what Andrew’s partner said, it sounded like an awful lot of work and preparation had gone into the course (not the launch, the actual course and its contents). Months of preparation and hours upon hours of recording and re-recording the content, trying to ensure no stone was left unturned.

Last week I got to preview the course. It’s called ‘Unstoppable Affiliate’ and is an in depth insight into how to crack affiliate marketing. Basically, a blue-print for making money out of the websites you love to build.

Now, I’ve been involved in affiliate marketing for years – I was an affiliate for a time, then I was responsible for a huge affiliate program for a corporate. I was more than a little humbled last week to find myself learning new tactics for being a successful affiliate.

Unstoppable Affiliate completely challenged some of my views, too. For example, as an affiliate don’t just start by choosing a keyword with high search volumes, start by choosing a product or offer you know you can actually get paid good commission for (and where to go to find those offers and payouts in one place).

Before I go any further let me give you the hard facts about this course:

  • It’s a video tutorial course, with transcripts available
  • There are over 50 videos averaging, I would say, 10 minutes a piece – so long enough to be useful, concise enough to digest
  • The modules covered are:
    • Research: Find your profit center – some methods which were new to me!
    • Site Strategies: Create the perfect mini site based around the offer and keyword market you’ve just found
    • Conversion Strategy: Convert visitors into buyers AND simultaneously please the search engines
    • Traffic Mastery: Get the right kind of visitors to the right pages on your mini; extremely current search engine strategies
  • The delivery style is friendly and informal. It’s kind of like Andrew is sitting next to you and navigating you through his world
  • It costs $67 one time

Now, when I found out the price (I had thought it was $67 a month, not one time) I was a bit shocked.  For $67 it totally over-delivers and I wondered if Andrew was off his rocker a little bit to be selling that much content for that price.  I actually thought it would cause a problem, because I always say if something sounds too good to be true, it is, so it could make people sceptical about the quality of the course.

But Andrew explained, and here’s the deal: Andrew and his business partner Josh Stanton are hoping that some of the people who take up the video course will also sign up to an eight week coaching program which costs $497.  In the coaching program they will hand-hold and get people up and running through intensive input and hopefully have them earning more in super-fast time. So, longer-term Andrew hopes to make back his investment in producing the video course.

So that presents an opportunity in two ways to anyone interested in learning a whole new chunk of actionable information on affiliate marketing:

  • Simply grab a bargain and get over 50 training videos for a mere $67. You can’t fail to learn something new from these videos, even if you’ve been doing affiliate marketing for years.  Buy the videos, set aside a day or some evenings, sit down and watch them with a notepad at your side – action even just one thing you learn and you’ll be further forward
  • If being mentored is a route you’re interested in and will honestly make full use of (and you can afford to invest the $497 without risking your rent or mortgage payment) then take up that option.  $62 a week for coaching?  Seems like good value to me. Otherwise?  Just ignore it and enjoy the videos

I can vouch for Andrew.  He’s a straight-up, genuine guy and he cares about what he does and how he does it.

If my little brother came to me and said he wanted to get into affiliate marketing, I’d get him this course (and the coaching to boot), that is how useful and genuine I think it is.

You can find out more about the course and sign up here: Unstoppable Affiliate

As always, I am interested to hear your thoughts, especially if you sign up and watch the videos.

P.S. Don’t forget that even a seasoned affiliate marketer can learn something from this course!

SpiderPiG Feature, TagPiG Tips, Affiliate News

CloakPiG v2.1.3 released

One of our members, Erika, asked for a new feature to be added to CloakPiG and a week or so later we delivered it.

One of the current features of CloakPiG is its PageRank hoarding functionality. PageRank Hoarder solves one of the key problems with affiliate and datafeed websites – too many outbound links. Every outbound link on your website bleeds a little bit of your PageRank away. PageRank Hoarder prevents this by giving you complete control over exactly how many links you display to search engine spiders. A human visitor would see all 20 of your outbound affiliate links on a page but Googlebot would see only three.

Erika wanted more control over exactly which links were visible to search engine spiders and human visitors, so we developed a the new Spider Safe feature within the PageRank Hoarding functionality of CloakPiG.  By marking your existing or new links as Spider Safe you ensure that they are always shown to both human users and search engine spiders even if PageRank Hoarding is active.

You can download the latest version of CloakPiG
from your member’s page.

TagPiG

A few weeks ago I posted some helpful tips on how to get the best out of TagPiG, our auto tagging plugin.  What I didn’t do was tell anyone I’d posted these tips. Not so helpful. Anyway, I’m telling you now. If you use TagPiG already or plan to in the future, take a look at the blog post.

Change to BlogPiG Affiliate Program

You probably know that BlogPiG products are sold via ClickBank. BlogPiG has been running an open affiliate program via ClickBank since we started, so it’s easy for anyone to sign up and promote our products and make some money.

ClickBank provide a great service to affiliates with accurate and punctual payments. We will continue to offer our affiliate program via ClickBank but the program is becoming a ‘closed’ program, i.e. new affiliates will have to be ‘white listed’ by us before they can promote our products.

Why have we opted for a closed program?  Because our affiliates work really hard for us and they deserve to be paid the commission they have earned.  By operating a closed program, we can ensure that hard working affiliates get credit for the sales they have generated.

The partner page is currently being updated so if you would like to promote BlogPiG products and earn 50% commission, just ping me an email and we’ll get you set up.

Customer Support

Customer support is a key area of the BlogPiG business. We want our customers to be happy with their BlogPiG product or products plus we are a community driven organisation. We aim to develop our products based on customer feedback and input.

I’m pleased to introduce you today to a new member of our team, Benjie, who will be responsible for the smooth running of customer support.

Benjie is a technically minded but supremely friendly and helpful chap, so I know he’ll be a great asset to the team here and to our customers. You can check out his smiley profile pic in Support!

So, that’s all the news I can share with you for now. Forgive the slightly loose use of the name ‘SpiderPiG’ at the start of this post but being the high-brow individual that I am, I took inspiration from Homer.

Video Demo: How to Build an Online Store With Data Feeds

[fp]embed[/fp]
So, you might remember that earlier in the month we invited you to watch a webinar and live demo of Gary building an online store using a data feed and CSVPiG.  The webinar was hosted by the US online retailer, Football Fanatics, who have a product catalog of over 165,000 items available via data feed.

Football Fanatics have two brilliant affiliate managers who are providing their affiliates with more support and training than I’ve seen from a merchant in a while – hence the series of educational webinars they are hosting and their invitation to us.  The webinar went well and you can watch the archived version here:

***Please note that the offer included in this video expired at midnight 24th March 2011!***

As well as seeing two stores being built realtime, if you watch the video you’ll also get to hear some questions which you might want to know the answers to, like:

  1. Will Google consider the product descriptions you publish to be duplicate content?
  2. Can you modify the content?
  3. Can you upload multiple datafeeds into one blog?
  4. How much server space do you need to host these data feed stores?
  5. What’s the best way to manage a huge product catalog?
  6. Can you put different feeds into different categories?
  7. Does CSVPiG play nicely with other plugins?
  8. Does CSVPiG work with other sources of content?
  9. How many templates does CSV come with?
  10. Is it possible to add other fields?

This webinar can give you a great insight into building online stores from data feeds, and also how CSVPiG works.

At the end of the video you will see that we ran a special offer on CSVPiG. The offer was crazy (someone even called it ‘ridiculous’) but we ran it for two weeks.  The offer expried on 24th March so I am sorry if you missed out but there can be no exceptions.  CSVPiG is a well priced, good-value product at $77, really!

Later this week I’ll be publishing another post about data feed marketing.  A seasoned data feed marketer will be revealing some very good tips on how to get your sites approved by merchants and affiliate networks first time around (Glenis, this one is for you!).

Let me know if this demo has been useful and if we can do more of them for you.

Five Tips to Avoid the Content Farm Scythe

Something our members have asked us to comment on recently is Google’s latest update and how BlogPiG products stand in light of it.  Given here at BlogPiG we produce ‘PiGs’, it does seem quite apt that I should be writing about a Google update labelled as the ‘Farmer’ in any case.

We all know by now that Google’s Farmer update was a large-scale cull – everybody’s been talking about it and blogging about it.  Some big names have taken a hit, not to mention the swathes of smaller players who are just trying to make a buck.

So how can you help protect your sites from Google’s scythe?  Well, we have some proven theories and tools to put to you but first look at the context:

Who is Google aiming its scythe at?

Google is clearing out content which it deems to be of low grade.  Google wants to serve the best content it can to its users so it can keep hold of its share of the search market (erm, that’d be total domination, then?).

What defines low grade content?

Content which is shallow or duplicate or, critically, which looks software-generated rather than human-generated.  This is because Google thinks auto-generated content is not as useful to its users as hand-crafted, human-generated, unique content.

How does this affect you?

If you’re a BlogPiG customer, chances are you run multiple blogs, or one or two very large and critical blogs.  Some of our customers have hundreds and hundreds running at any one time.  Let’s be honest:  it’s an impossible to task to have totally human generated content on that many blogs.

So if you use content that hasn’t been bespoke-written for your site by a human, how do you not look like a content farm?

Actually, the question to ask is: how to I make my blogs or websites look human generated and human managed?

The key is to go and take a look at the sites that are still ranking high in the search engines. We’ve been doing this for years and we’ve noticed five major trends.

Comments

Comments are like votes.  Blogs only attract real comments if their posts are of value to the readers and in most cases this means they are not automated. Google knows that comments are difficult to get so a post with lots of comments is a trust indicator.  In general Content Farms do not have comments. We’ve always considered this to be a big footprint which is why we developed CommentPiG. CommentPiG gradually adds on-topic comments automatically to your posts removing the very obvious “no comments” footprint.

Read more about CommentPiG’s comment simulation here.

Tags

Most people who hand craft their blog posts will also spend a bit of time adding appropriate tags to it before publishing them. Tagging is very beneficial but also very manual process which is why it is another trust indicator.  In general we’ve noticed that Content Farms do not tag their posts like real bloggers do. Again we consider this to be an unnecessary footprint so we developed TagPiG to totally automate the tagging process and wipe out another obvious footprint.

Read more about TagPiG’s auto tagging here.

Site Growth

Most real blogs grow gradually over time, maybe a few posts per week on average. This is often termed ‘organic growth.’  For years now it has been possible to simulate a site that grows automatically over time – every autoblogging tool worth its salt has auto growth built-in including our own CSVPiG.  In fact, you don’t even need a plugin as WordPress’ own Schedule Post feature gives you the ability to completely automate organic growth. Content Farms often publish new posts & pages over time. Given the ease of automation we no longer consider organic site growth a reliable trust indicator.

Page Freshness

This is a very different concept to site growth. Real blog pages tend to grow and change over time as more and more comments are added. This keeps the pages fresh.  If each time Google visits a page on your site it appears exactly the same as the day you published it then Google is eventually going to stop coming back. Studies have shown that Google tends to visit static pages once every 25 days whereas it will visit daily for regularly updated pages. Content Farms tend to publish static pages that receive no comments and so become stale very quickly. This is another reason we developed CommentPiG to add fresh new comments to your pages on a regular basis just like a real blog.

You can read more about CommentPiG’s page freshness feature here.

Social Voting

As well as being commented on, real blogs are also talked about elsewhere. People will tend to bookmark, Like, retweet, vote, crosspost, trackback, pingback.  Call it what you want it’s all effectively the same thing – a social vote of confidence in the site and its content.  People will not bookmark, vote or retweet Content Farm posts & pages.  Simulating social voting naturally is very, very complicated and costly so it is a very accurate trust indicator. We’re currently developing SocialPiG our very own social backlinker so we know exactly how hard it can be to achieve this.

You can register for more information on the SocialPiG launch here.

So, you see that BlogPiG’s product development path has always been, and continues to be, about automating the tasks which a human would perform in as accurate and efficient a way as possible.  Our plugins create the clues or ‘trust indicators’ which Google is seeking when deciding whether content is of good quality.

  • What methods do you employ to present Google with the content it demands?
  • Are these methods automated or manual?
  • Have you seen drastic changes in your rankings since the end of February?
  • Have you changed tactics in recent weeks?

As ever, we love to hear from you, so let us have your thoughts.

Help Me Help You

Hello lovely members, I hope your week is getting off to a good start.

Here at BlogPiG we’re busy updating CloakPiG and we’re also working on SocialPiG and some revisions to CSVPiG.  You know we love making software but this year we’d also like to offer you some more helpful content.

I know that some of you have found Gary’s knowledge-sharing posts useful, e.g how to build a Facebook business page or how to optimise your computer desktop, and we’d like to provide you with more information which can help you run your sites, your business, your PC or even your life a little more efficiently.

But, before we publish content we ‘think’ you might want to hear about, how about you tell me what you’d like to hear about?

I know some of you have asked for more more information about datafeed marketing (building online stores from affiliate data feeds) and we’re working on that but is there anything else you’d like us to shed some light on or get a discussion going about?

Do you have any burning questions about blogging or Autoblogging?

Is there something you’ve always wanted to ask about WordPress?

Want some hints and tips on anything? Reviews of anything?

We’re always going to spend most of our time working on the software but if we can help you make even more of our products by furnishing you with other information, then let us work on that too for you.

So, do tell me how we can help and enlighten and I’ll extract what gems of knowledge and experience I can from the team here and the other people and resources we have access to – all without the aid of scary looking headgear, I might add.

Look forward to seeing your input!

Fiona

A Very Special Course

If you know Mike Johnson and  you are already a members of his epic AutoBlog BluePrint training series then you can stop reading right about here…

Everyone else please read on…

I’m not a fan of word the guru, it’s an over used and abused term, especially in this wonderful industry of ours. Instead I’m going to call Mike the Go-To-Guy for everything autoblogging. There is no one else in the public domain who knows more about autoblogging than Mike Johnson.

In a recent conversation with a BlogPiG Member (Hi Glenis!) I described Mike as…“the most stand-up, honest, hard working chap I have met so far in this industry”… and I’ll stand by every word of that.

I have been a member of his Autoblog Blueprint for a long time, it truly is a superb course. In fact is is THE BEST course currently available on autoblogging bar none.

Mike has recently updated Autoblog Blueprint to version 3.0, it has all the latest & greatest information, there is literally no stone unturned in this version.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • It’s built for Google 2011 SEO
  • Include a simple auto installer pre-configured for beginners
  • How to use Social Media for tons of extra traffic
  • Over 40 step by step videos and tutorials (these are superb!)
  • Detailed examples of how to build the best sites
  • Detailed examples of where to place your ads and links
  • Detailed examples on how to use and create content that will work (and beat the duplicate content filters!)

(ABB 3.0  was actually launched yesterday but as with anything I offer BlogPiG Members’ I wanted to give it a thorough review first which is why you’re not hearing about it from me until today.)

Here’s my favorite bit from Mike’s presales:

To Make $100,000 Per Year with the Auto Blog Blueprint 3.0, All You Would Have To DO Is:

Divide $100,000 / 12 Months = $8,333 Per Month

If You Had 25 ABB 3.0 Blogs, You Would Need to Make:

$8,333 / 25 Blogs = $333 Per Month, Per Blog

$333 / 30 Days = $11 Per Day

$11 Per Day is Easy to Achieve using the ABB 3.0 System. That is One Affiliate Product Sale per Day Per Blog. One Sale!!

Mike’s ABB course costs $97 one-time, which is a steal, you’ll save 10 times that amount just in the discounts on the premium themes & plugins that Mike has negotiated for you inside.

You also get free upgrades for life so that means you also get ABB 4.0 & ABB 5.0 etc. when they are released.

THE FOLLOWING BLOGPIG OFFER IS NOW CLOSED

And finally I’ve never done this before but because I believe in Mike and his AutoBlog Blueprint so much I’m going to give you an even bigger kick-start than ABB can give you alone.

Anyone who buys ABB via my link below can choose any BlogPiG plugin completely free of charge!

NB: You MUST ensure that the BlogPiG cookie is present throughout the purchase process for this offer to be honoured.  On the very bottom of the shopping cart page you should see [ affiliate = blogpig ].   I am very sorry but is this is not the case, we cannot honour the offer.

Small print: You’ll need to email me your Clickbank receipt number after your purchase ABB so I can find it in my stats to qualify for my bonus offer. If you refund ABB (why would you?!?) your free BlogPiG license stops too.

I’ve Just Read The Backlink Bible

If you’ve been a member of BlogPiG for a while you’ll know I very rarely send out product reviews.

In fact this is only the 2nd time (I think) that I’ve mentioned a product outside of the BlogPiG stables. (I know PiGs shouldn’t live in stables!)

The main reason for this is simply because most products out there suck so why would I recommend them to you?

But there are exceptions and this is certainly one of those rare exceptions.

I’ve just finished reading an amazing ebook called the Ultimate Link Building Dossier from Duncan Carver.

Read more and buy the book here.

I know Duncan from way back, we were both members of a private IM forum called “Nothing Held Back” which did what it said on the tin (it’s now closed).

Duncan quickly established himself as one of the leading lights in link building community and he has gone from strength to strength ever since.

In his Link Building Dossier Duncan brings together over 10 years of accumulated link building knowledge into one simple guide.

This 200 page book encapsulated almost everything I know and use about link building and added a lot more besides.

Here are a few of the highlights:

  • Why 95% of your working day should be spent building links or generating traffic
  • Why on-page SEO is all but irrelevant
  • How to market every article or post you’ve ever written to 30+ VIDEO sites
  • Why you need to automate to succees in the numbers game
  • Proof that you cannot get too many links too quickly
  • Why directory submission isn’t dead
  • How to market in forums without posting
  • Why EVERY backlink is good link but some are a LOT better than others

It really is very, very good stuff. If there is only one product you’re going to buy this year then please make it this one.

I really mean that and I’m probably going to regret saying this next bit…

Even if you’re already saving up to buy one of MY products, STOP. Use that money to buy this guide instead. You will never get more bang for your buck…

  • Part 1 covers the link building fundamentals, it will be a real eye opener for some of you, it was for me and I’ve been in this game for +10 years.
  • Part 2 covers the link building techniques themselves, it’s ALL in here, nothing is missed.
  • Part 3 helps you build your new found knowledge into a workable strategy for your sites.

It’s really nice to finally read a guide from someone who agrees with the advice I’ve been handing out on a regular basis to the BlogPiG members I’ve chatted to.

You need to “stop sweating the small stuff!”

By which I mean themes, layouts, colours, merchant selection, meta, keyword density etc.

Just get a site up of sufficient quality as quickly as possible. Now focus on getting traffic to this site above everything else.

This of course means getting backlinks.

Feel free to build another site quickly and efficiently in another niche and focus on getting links to that too. Repeat as often as possible until you reach maximum capacity.

I strongly believe that getting traffic i.e. backlinks should be 80-90% of your time, with the remainder spend on site building, on page SEO, design, content etc.

This is completely the opposite to how most people do it and how I used to do it. Duncan goes a step further and advises you spend 95% of your time on backlinks! I won’t disagree.

The trouble with tweaking on-site stuff at the start of a project is that you have no idea what works. You’re flying blind as there is no (or not enough) traffic to get real feedback on your tweak’s effectiveness.

Once you get a site (or network) to a few hundred visitors you can then begin to make changes, try new themes, layouts, different sponsors etc. and you will know if the change is beneficial as the raw data (CTR) will tell you.

This is also why I have designed the BlogPiG products to be very quick and efficient to use.

My plugins help you quickly and efficiently get a site up and running by leveraging – datafeeds, tag analysis, 3rd party comments etc. They are all as close too being completely automated as possible leaving you as much time as you need to go and get new backlinks.

We’ve not focused our plugins on automating the backlink process so far. This book has changed that.

I’m pleases to say our first backlink automation plugin (SocialPiG) is currently in beta testing and the next wave of plugins released by BlogPiG will now ALL be backlink focused.

In the meantime please read Duncan’s Ultimate Link Building Guide and please spend your time (and your money) where it matters most.
